PostSubject: [Help Thread]: Reset your own computer's password!   Mon Aug 23, 2010 9:18 pm

Before I start, if this thread is in the wrong section please move it to it's
rightful place.

Have you lost your computer password?
People usually contact programmers and they take forever to recover your old password (from 6 hours to 3 days)
Well here is a good way to CHANGE your password if you lost it (it's safe and easy):

Method (1):

Take a rest, take a cup of coffee or tea, then try to remember it.

=================

Method (2):

1- Restart your computer.

2- On the white screen that appears first when you turn your computer on (boot screen) tap (F8) rapidly

3- You will see a black screen with options, press on (Safe mode) then press Enter again, then the black screen will start filling with computer data.

4- You will see above of your profile a new one called (Administrator) press on it and it will load a profile with a black wallpaper with "safe mode" written on the edges and a (recycle bin).

5- Press on the start button and then chose (Run), then a little box will appear.

6- In the little box Type (control userpasswords) or (control userpasswords2) then press enter.

7- Click on "reset password" at the bottom of the screen after you enter the name of the acount.

8- Enter your new password and press Enter, if it doesn't work then try adding (*) after the password.

=====================

Method (3):

Reset password with RESET DISK if you made before.
Windows XP and further versions also provide another method to recover forgotten password by using “Reset Disk”. If you created a Password Reset Disk in past, you can use that disk to reset the password. (look at method 4 and 5)

=====================

Method (4):

*Restart the computer.

*On the Windows XP logon screen, click the user name that you want to use, and then press ENTER.

-Note You receive the following error message:
Did you forget your password? You can click the "?" button to see your password hint. Or you can use your password reset disk. Please type your password again. Be sure to use the correct uppercase and lowercase letters.

*Click Use your password reset disk. The Password Reset Wizard starts. The Password Reset Wizard enables you to create a new password for your user account.

*In the Password Reset Wizard dialog box, click Next.

*Insert the password reset disc into the CD drive, and then click Next.

*Type a new password in the Type a new password box, and then type the password again in the Type the password again to confirm box.

*In the Type a new password hint box, type a hint for the password, and then click Next.

*Click Finish, and then try to log on to Windows XP again.

====================

Method (5):

To log on to a computer by using a password reset disk, when that computer is a member of a domain, or was disconnected from a domain, follow these steps:

*Restart the computer.

*In the Welcome to Windows dialog box, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.

*In the Log On to Windows dialog box, type an incorrect password in the Password box, and then click OK.

*In the Logon Failed dialog box, click Reset. The Password Reset Wizard starts. You can use the Password Reset Wizard to create a new password for your local account.

*On the Welcome to the Password Reset Wizard page, click Next.

========================

Warning:

-Never do this in schools or libraries or in other place witch use computers with passwords, you will get accused of HACKING!!!
