- btw, how do you do this stuff???
It's not hard, but it's very time consuming. What I usually do is start by drawing the basic shapes of what I want and then adding detail as I define the object that I'm drawing. I usually do all of this with a B pencial on paper and then ink it with Indian ink before I scan it into a computer. You can do the lineart directly on the computer if you having a drawing tablet. I have one myself, but I still prefer to work on paper first. Like this:- Spoiler:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] After I've scanned the drawing in I'll clean it up using photoshop and then start applying the base colors. Do that select the area you're going to be coloring with the magic wand tool and create a new layer. Then use the paintbucket and fill in the desired color. Then you'll switch back to the previous layer and use the wand tool to select a new area. Keep doing this until you've gotten all the areas you want colored. - Spoiler:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] After this step there's a couple of ways to add shadows. You can either use the burn tool (this way is kind of tricky and takes a lot of time) or you can use cell shading. Burning looks like this:- Spoiler:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Cell shading works kind of similar to the way you applied the base colors. You select the colors you're going to add shadow to with the wand tool and create a new layer. Before you do anything to this layer change the layer property to multiply. Next, select a light shade of gray and begin using your mouse or tablet and pen to add the shadows. Keep doing this until you're statisfied.- Spoiler:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] All that's left to do is add a background (if you want to) and flatten the image. - Spoiler:
